Kansas City- Fontana's Role Model

Local officials of Fontana say that they consider Kansas City, Kansas, a model for their city's future development.
City council members, county supervisors and officials at the California Speedway visited the Kansas speedway recently and saw how the race track was used to encourage economic growth.
The 400-acre retail and entertainment complex developers build near the race track is seen as the driving force in Kansas' economic renewal.
Paul Biane, supervisor to Fontana, wants the board to request proposals from consultants to analyze the possibilities for hotel, retail and office uses around the Speedway.
